WebShot A4 · Effective November 3, 2026
1. About this extension
WebShot A4 is a Chrome extension that captures user-selected webpage content, organizes screenshots, and exports files locally. Connecting a Google account to upload, back up, or restore screenshots through Google Drive is optional.
2. Information handled by the extension
- Screenshot content: selected portions of webpages that you choose to capture, which may contain personal or sensitive information visible on those pages.
- Capture metadata: information such as capture time, page URL, dimensions, image data, and ordering when available.
- Local preferences: language, interface and notification settings, and local upload or export state.
- Google account details (only if you connect): basic profile data such as your name, email address, and profile picture to display which Google account is connected.
- Drive files (only if you connect): files and folders created or managed by WebShot A4 for your chosen uploads, backups, and restorations.
3. How information is used
Screenshot data is used to display and organize your captures and create export files (including PDF and image formats). Capture metadata supports labelling and sorting. Google account information is used to show connection status. With your action, the extension uses Google Drive APIs to upload files or create and restore backups in your Google Drive.
WebShot A4 requests Google OAuth scopes for drive.file, userinfo.profile, and userinfo.email. It does not require a Google connection for local exports.
4. Local storage and Google Drive
Captured screenshots are saved locally in the browser's extension storage, including IndexedDB. Local settings and job status may also be saved by the extension. Data you choose to upload is transmitted directly from the extension to Google's APIs and stored in your Google Drive according to Google's own terms and privacy practices. Backup data can include screenshot images and a manifest containing capture metadata such as source URLs and timestamps.
The extension's current architecture does not send screenshot files to a separate developer-operated server. This informational website does not process screenshots or implement visitor analytics.
5. Sharing and third parties
WebShot A4 does not sell user data and does not use screenshot content or Google account information for advertising. When you enable a Google Drive action, Google processes the relevant data as the service provider. You control the files shared through your Google account's Drive permissions and settings.
6. Control and retention
You may remove saved captures using the extension's controls. Clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension may remove locally stored information. Files already uploaded to your Google Drive remain there until you delete them from Drive. You can revoke the extension's Google access using your Google Account's third-party access settings.
7. Website permissions and security
The extension needs permission to work on webpages so it can provide its on-page capture controls and capture content you select. It also uses Chrome APIs for local downloads, notifications, and optional Google account authorization. Avoid capturing confidential information unless you are comfortable storing or exporting it. Google account access is governed by the permissions you approve.
8. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the extension's features or data handling change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version of this notice. For support or privacy questions, contact the developer through the WebShot A4 Chrome Web Store listing.
